Alba Maxima

IMG_1748Pure white flowers that can sometimes have a hint of cream in them.  Flowers are very double and have an excellent perfume.  Grey-green foliage on a shrub to 1.8-2.2 x 1.2m.  Branch’s are arching over in spring with the weight of the flowers.  Lovely large healthy shrub that flowers in late spring and follows with some red hips in Autumn. An Ancient rose from Europe, 15th century or earlier with lots of other names attached to it.  Maxima, Jacobite Rose, Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Rose, White Rose of York, Great Double White, Cheshire Rose
